When I open system preferences, I can not click the Bluetooth On or Discoverable boxes and the status bar indicates that Bluetooth is off. It worked when I initially plugged it in but then I updated the firmware for the keyboard and mouse and I can no longer activate the Bluetooth on my computer. Since my computer did not have the wireless combo card (its a late 2005 2.5GHz Quad Core) I bought an ioGear Bluetooth Dongle (GBU421). I'm not sure if this is a hardware or software issue but I have a PowerMac G5 that I recently purchased an apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse for.
